Ingredients

cooked rice

Bengal gram

tumbler of boiled then cooled milk
Instructions
In a pressure cook, add the bengal gram. Now add, a cup of water and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
Place a heavy bottomed pan on a stove.
Once the pan is heated, add mashed jaggery
Now, add 1 tumbler of water.
Let it cook for about 10 minutes.
In a bowl add the cooked rice and mash.
Add this mashed rice to the vessel.
Stir well and add the cooked bengal gram.
Stir well and add the grated coconut.
Let it cook for about 10 minutes.
Now, turn off the flame.
Take a seperate pan and add 1 tablespoon of ghee and let it melt.
Once the ghee is heated, add the cashew and dried grapes.
Once it turns slightly brown add to the payaasam.
Now, add the milk and stir continously till you get the desired consistency.
