Put dried red chillies, garlic, green chillies, tamarind pulp, sugar, lemon juice, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder and 4 tbsps oil in a bowl. Add salt.
Slice ginger, add to the bowl and mix well. Add chicken pieces and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 20 minutes.
Heat remaining oil in a non-stick pan, place marinated chicken pieces alongwith the marinade and cook, stirring a few times, till the chicken turns golden and crisp from all sides.
Transfer the barbequed chicken onto a serving plate, garnish with green and red capsicum strips and spring onion greens strips and serve hot.
