butter

dark chocolate

Dark chocolate chopped
(for the ganache)

Instructions
Preheat oven to 150 degrees celsius. Grease and flour a cake tin.
Melt butter and chocolate in a saucepan.
Add sugar and water, stir until sugar completely gets dissolved. Let it cool
Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and cocoa in a mixing bowl.
Add the chocolate mixture and fold gently.
Fold in the eggs and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture into the cake tin and bake for 1 hour
Let it cool completely and then cut in half.
Add the chocolate for the ganache and cream to a saucepan and cook over medium heat.
Blend well until mixture is smooth
Refrigerate for 20-30 mins till thick.
Spread a layer of the ganache on the bottom half of the cake. Top the upper half and spread another layer over.
Top with chocolate sprinkles.
Refrigerate for 2-3 hours and serve.
