  1. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees C
  2. Grease a casserole dish with butter
  3. Layer half of the bread slices in the dish tightly so it forms a solid layer
For the custard
  1. Whisk the eggs and then slowly drizzle in the milk
  2. Add sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and whisk until it forms a semi solid texture
For the filling
  1. Using a handheld blender, beat the cream cheese with butter, egg, cinnamon and sugar
  2. Whisk until its soft
For the bake
  1. Pour half of the custard mixture over the layer of bread and let it soak
  2. Add the filling on top of the custard and evenly spread it
  3. Layer the other half of the bread on top of the filling
  4. Pour the rest of the custard mixture on top
  5. Sprinkle some extra cinnamon on top for added flavour
  6. Bake for 50 minutes until the top is browned and crispy
  7. Cool for 15 minutes and sprinkle with some confectioners’ sugar (optional) and serve
