Scalloped Oysters Recipe
In Jane Austen’s ‘Emma’, M Woodhouse invites his elderly guests to enjoy dishes like sweetbreads with asparagus, scalloped oysters and apple pies. Today, we’re sharing a recipe for scalloped oysters.

light cream

Worcestshire sauce

butter
melted

Instructions
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F.
Butter a baking dish with two tablespoons of butter.
Drain the oysters and layer half of them in the bottle of the pan.
Cover this layer with the cracker crumbs.
Cover the crumbs with the remaining oysters.
Whisk together the cream, worcestshire sauce, melted butter, salt and pepper.
Pour this mixture over the layer of oysters and cover with the crumbs.
Bake for 45 minutes and serve.
