Ginger Biscuits
Crunchy biscuits with a gingery zing.
Ingredients

cups
all purpose flour

tbsp
baking powder
1
tbsp
ground ginger
1
tsp
ground nutmeg
1
tsp
ground cloves
1
tsp
ground cinnamon
1
cup
shortening
melted and cooled
1
cup
molasses
1
cup
brown sugar
1/2
cup
Water
1
egg
1
tsp
vanilla extract
Instructions
Mix the flour and spices together.
Combine the shortening, molasses, brown sugar, water, egg and vanilla.
Add the flour and knead until you form a dough.
Divide the dough into three and wrap in a plastic wrap.
Refrigerate for three hours.
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F.
Roll the dough into balls and roll out into 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut into cookies with cookie cutters.
Spread the cookies onto a lined baking tray.
Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes.
Take out of the oven and cool.
Store in an airtight container.
