Let Them Eat Lemon Cake
Zesty lemon cake inspired by Sansa Stark.
Ingredients

grated lemon zest

baking powder

tso baking soda

kosher salt

+ 1/2lemon juice

cup
Buttermilk

tsp
vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit .
Grease and flour a cake pan.
Cream the butter and half of the granulated sugar together.
Beat in the eggs and lemon zest.
Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together.
Mix half of the lemon juice, the buttermilk and vanilla separately.
Stir in the flour mixture into the butter and lemon mixture.
Then, add the buttermilk mixture and stir.
Pour the batter into the cake pan and bake for 45 minutes to an hour, until a wooden pick inserted in the cake comes out clean.
Mix the remaining sugar with the remaining lemon juice and warm over a low flame until the sugar dissolves.
Take the cake out of the oven and drizzle the syrup over it.
