Ribbin’ Good
Delicious, barbecued ribs.
Ingredients
For the rub

light-brown sugar

sweet paprika

for the sauce

canola oil

yellow onion
chopped
3
garlic cloves
finely chopped

smoked paprika

cup
whiskey

cups
cider vinegar

cups
chicken broth
1 1/2
cup
ketchup
1
cup
honey
2
tbsp
Worcestershire sauce
2
tbsp
yellow mustard
1
tsp
kosher salt
1/2
tsp
black pepper
1/4
tsp
cayenne pepper
Instructions
Combine all the ingredients for the rub and place this mixture in a sealable bag.
Place the ribs in the bag, seal it and shake well until they are coated with the rub.
Refrigerate for 4-24 hours.
To make the sauce
Heat oil over medium heat and sauté the onion for 5 minutes.
Add the garlic and sauté for three more minutes.
Add the paprika, whiskey and vinegar and simmer the mixture for 3 minutes.
Add the broth, ketchup, honey, worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, black pepper and cayenne.
Stir well and allow the sauce to simmer for 30 minutes until it thickens.
Preheat and oven to 375 f.
Cover the marinated ribs with foil and roast for 45 minutes.
Baste the ribs with the sauce and roast for another hour and a half.
Take the ribs out of the foil, baste with the sauce again and continue roasting for ten more minutes, continuously basting and turning the ribs.
Take the ribs out of the oven and cut.
Serve with the leftover sauce.
