Crisp and Crunchy!
This simple recipe yields kalmi vadas that are the perfect accompaniment to a cup of tea!
Ingredients
cup
½Chana Dal
soaked for 3 hours and drained
1
tsp
ginger-green chill paste
cup
¼onions
chopped finely
tsp
½chili powder
½ tbsp. roasted and crushed coriander
1
tsp
fennel seeds
tsp
½salt
Oil for deep frying
Instructions
Add the chana dal and the water to a mixer and blend until you get a coarse mixture.
Pour the mixture into a bowl and stir in all the other ingredients.
Divide the mixture into ten and shape each portion into a flat vadas
Heat the oil in a deep pan
Once the oil is hot, fry the vadas two at a time on a medium flame until they turn golden brown
Serve hot!

Serve the vadas with green chutney.
