Golden Goodness!
Hot, golden fried plantains that will make the perfect snack!

  1. Mix the water, garlic and salt in a glass bowl.
  2. Peel the plantains and slice length wise.
  3. In a large pan, heat the oil to approximately 325 degrees.
  4. Add the plantains to the oil and fry for about a minute per side until they are yellow in colour.
  5. Remove the plantains from the pan and place the, on a sheet of parchment paper to dry.
  6. Press the plantain down using a wooden spoon until it is half of the size it was before.
  7. Put the plantains in the bowl with the water, garlic and salt.
  8. Allow them to soak for a minute and then pat them dry to remove and excess water.
  9. Reheat the oil to 325 degrees F and then allow the plantains to cook for two to four minutes until the turn golden brown.
  10. Remove, and place in a dish lined with paper towels.
  11. Serve
