  1. Preheat your oven to 350F.
  2. Grease a doughnut pan.
  3. Mix together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  4. Separately mix together the buttermilk, melted butter and vanilla.
  5. Add the egg and whisk.
  6. Mix the wet mixture into the dry mixture and then add the red food colouring.
  7. Pour the batter into the doughnut pan.
  8. Bake for ten minutes.
  9. Take out of the oven and allow to cool.
  10. Meanwhile, for the cream cheese frosting, mic together the cream cheese, butter and vanilla with a whisk.
  11. Whisk for two minutes.
  12. Add the confectioners’ sugar and the milk.
  13. Beat on high speed for 2 minutes.
  14. Spread on the cooled doughnuts and serve.
