Ingredients
Salmon steak 1 thick
Thick coconut milk 1 cup
Oil 4 tablespoons
Onion chopped1 medium
salt to taste
Garam masala powder a pinch
Lemon juice 3 tablespoons
Tomato chopped1 large
Red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon
Paprika powder 1/4 teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
Crushed fresh green chillies 1/4 teaspoon
potatoes (boiled
peeled and mashed2 tablespoons
Spring onion greens chopped2 tablespoons
Instructions
Heat 2 tbsps oil in a pan, add onions and saute.
Sprinkle salt and garam masala over the salmon steak. Pour lemon juice over the steak.
When the onions are lightly coloured add tomatoes, mix and saute for 2 minutes.
Add red chilli powder, paprika powder and turmeric powder, mix and saute for 2 minutes.
Add crushed green chillies and thick coconut milk and mix. Add mashed potatoes and mix well and saute for 2 minutes.
Add salt and mix well. Take the pan off the heat.
Heat the remaining oil in another pan, add the salmon steak, skin side facing the pan and cook, cover with the pan with the sauce.
Add spring onion greens to the sauce and mix.
When the underside of the salmon steak is done, gently flip it over and cook the other side.
Spread some of the sauce in a serving plate, place the salmon steak over the sauce, sprinkle some paprika powder all around and serve hot.
