Ingredients
2
cups
Rice flour
1
cup
Gram Flour
2
Tsp
red chilli powder
Salt
to taste
2
Pinches of Asafoetida
1
Tsp
Sesame seeds
2
Tbsp
melted butter
Oil
for deep frying
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, add rice flour and gram flour.
Mix well and then add the red chilli powder, salt, sesame seeds, butter and asafoetida.
Mix well and slowly add water and knead.
In a deep frying pan, add oil
Once the oil is heated. Take a part of the dough and put it through the murukku press (using the saraai pokuda attachment)
Create a round layer in the hot oil.
When one side is done, gently flip over using a ladle.
When the oil stops sizzling, it means the pakoda is done. Remove and drain excess oil in paper towels.
Fry the remaining dough and serve hot with chai
