Sodhi Kuzhambu Recipe
Tirunelveli Sodhi Kuzhambu recipe is prepared in coconut milk gravy and cooked along with a collection of regular vegetables.

  1. Take Moong dal in a vessel. Add turmeric powder and water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles till you have a soft and mushy dal. Mash the dal and set it aside
  2. Take green chili, ginger and cumin seeds and grind it to a smooth paste and set it aside
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add shallots and chopped garlic and sauté till light brown color. Add greenchilli- ginger-cumin seeds paste and saute for 3-4 minutes in low flame
  4. Then, add veggies and stir-fry in high flame for 3-4 minutes. Then, add thin coconut milk and stir once and cover and cook the veggies till they are soft
  5. Once the veggies are cooked, add salt. Add mashed dal and stir well. Cook for 2 minutes
  6. Finally add thick coconut milk and stir once and switch off the flame. Do not bring it to boil after adding thick coconut milk.
  7. Heat oil in another pan. Add mustard seeds and allow it to sputter. Add curry leaves and sauté for few seconds. Add these seasoning to kuzhambu.
  8. Allow Sodhi kuzhambu to cool for 5 minutes and then add lemon juice and stir well
  9. The delicious Tirunelveli Sodhi ready to serve!
