Ingredients

warm water

yeast

dehydrated chopped onion

cornmeal

egg yolk

Water
Instructions
Put yeast in the warm water along with sugar.
Once it begins to froth up add salt and onion.
Mix it up and then little by little mix the flour.
Now beat the mixture till a rough dough forms.
Take this dough on a work surface sprinkled with flour and knead the dough with your hands till smooth.
Grease the dough and keep it covered in a greased bowl for 45 minutes till it is twice in size.
Now divide the dough into equal portions and give them each a bagel shape.
Sprinkle flour on a plate and put the bagels on it.
Cover it and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Bring the water along with a spoonful of sugar to a boil.
Meanwhile let the oven preheat at 400 degrees.
Boil each bagel for about five minutes each.
Drain them immediately.
Now put the boiled bagels on a baking sheet.
Brush egg yolk mixed with a spoonful of water onto the bagels.
Bake them for about 40 minutes or till brown in colour.
Cool them before eating.
