Ingredients
For Spice Powder

Dried Red Chilies

coriander seeds

½Chana Dal

½Urad Dal

aof Asafetida

For The Rice

cooked rice

½mustard seeds

½Onions

Instructions
Roast the spice powder ingredients on medium heat, stirring continuously. Once roasted let them cool completely.
Grind the cooled down roasted ingredients into a fine powder.
Heat oil in pan on medium heat. Once hot add mustard seeds and let them pop.
Then add green chilies, curry leaves and onions with little salt. Cook till onions become soft and light brown.
Add the tomato puree, remaining salt and cook till all the moisture evaporates and oil starts to leave.
Add spice powder and cook for a minute.
Lastly, add the cooked rice and mix.
Serve with plain yogurt or raita.
