  1. Preheat an oven to 220C and grease a baking sheet.
  2. Sift the flour and salt together and knead in the butter.
  3. Add the sugar and milk and continue kneading until you get a soft dough.
  4. Pat the dough into about 2 cm thickness and cut out rounds from it.
  5. Place the rounds on a baking sheet.
  6. Brush the scones with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden.
  8. Cool on a wire rack and serve!
