sultanas and currants

golden syrup

melted butter

baking soda

Instructions
In a mixing bowl, mix the flour, breadcrumbs, brown sugar, mixed spice, sultanas and the currants.
Make a well in the middle and add golden syrup and melted butter.
Dissolve the baking soda in milk, add the lemon rinds and combine this with the mixture.
Take a tea towel and scald it by putting it in boiling water.
Wring it out, put it on a flat surface and dust with flour.
Put the cloth and line the pudding mould with it.
Add the mixture and tie up the cloth.
Put a plate at the bottom of a pot and put the water to the boil in it.
Add the pudding mould to the pot of boiling water and keep it in for about 3 hours.
Serve with custard.
