Rava Dumplings
Dumplings made of rava and rice.
Ingredients

cups
of Rice Rava
3/4
cups
of Scraped Coconut
4
cups
of water
salt to taste
For Tempering
2
tbsp
of Coconut oil
1
tsp
of Mustard Seeds
1
tbsp
of Channa Dal/Kadala Paruppu
1/2
tbsp
of Urad Dal/Ulutham Paruppu
pinch
aof asafoetida
1
or 2 chopped Green Chillies
Few curry leaves
Instructions
In a Kadai, add oil.
When the oil is heated, add mustard seeds.
Once they splutter, add channa dal and urad dal and stir until the dals turn golden.
Now, add the asafoetida, green chillies and curry leaves and stir for a minute.
Add the water. The water should be in ratio to the rava. one part rice rawa and 2 parts water.
Now, add the coconut gratings and salt to taste. Let it come to a boil.
Now, lower the heat to medium and slowly add the rice rava all the time continously stirring.
Keep stirring until all the water is evaporated.
Let the mixture cool.
Dipping your hands in water, roll small golf-sized balls of upma.
Roll the entire upma.
Now in a pressure cooker, add some waters and add the balls of upma. Close the lid and pressure cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
serve hot.
