  1. In a bowl beat the eggs along with sugar until it dissolves. Keep it aside.
  2. Sieve the flour, semolina and baking soda into a pan, add the egg-sugar mix, milk and heat over a very low flame.
  3. Mix well using a spoon and turn off the flame. Allow the mix to cool.
  4. Add salt, cardamom powder to the pan and turn the mixture into a smooth dough. Keep it covered for around 45 minutes.
  5. Shape the dough into a log shape and then cut into thick (about 1”) 2in*2.5in square pieces.
  6. Make a cross mark in the center using a sharp knife.
  7. Boil oil in a pan and turn the flame to minimum.
  8. Fry each piece in minimum heat for about 4-5 minutes flipping occasionally for uniform cooking.
  9. Once cooked transfer the vettu cakes onto a paper towel to drain off remove excess oil.
  10. Serve with tea.
