Dakshin Presents MasterChef Chronicles with Chef George
Situated at the foothills of Chamundi Hills in Karnataka, Mysore was
the reigning capital of the Kingdom of Mysore for nearly six centuries.
Noted for its heritage buildings and palaces combined with the cultural
ambience and achievements, Mysuru has earned the sobriquet Cultural Capital of Karnataka.
Having started his career more than three decades ago with the bakery
department of ITC Windsor, Chef George Jayasuriya has won several
international accolades for Dakshin. He has also gone on to lead Dakshin to
become one of the finest restaurants in the country which pays a culinary
tribute to the tastes for South Indian cuisines.
This month, let Chef George take you through the story of his origin, as he
invites you to celebrate ‘home foods’, all the way from the heart of
Karnataka. Despite being deeply influenced by the Udupi region, the Mysore cuisine has developed its own character, one that is simple, filling and unbelievably delicious.
The Masterchef Chronicles is part of the Pan-India celebration to
commemorate 30 successful years of Dakshin, a signature brand that
celebrates the rich diversity of South Indian cuisine, at ITC Hotels.
Through this series, the chefs will embark on a culinary journey to promote
the cuisines from their respective birthplace.
Come home to the heart of Karnataka with Chef George, only at Dakshin.
