Aloo Tikkis Recipe
Aloo tikki is a versatile and popular potato preparation, that can be had as it is, or as part of a gravy or a chaat preparation. Here is a relatively simple version that you can prepare with readymade spice powders. If required, ask an elder to help you mash the potatoes. Cut the tikkis into different shapes using cookie cutters, to make them look more interesting.

Ingredients
- 4 potatoes peeled and boiled
- 1/2 cup boiled green peas
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves dhania
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp chaat masala
- 1/2 tbsp Lemon juice
- salt to taste
- 2 tbsp Oil to fry the tikkis

Instructions
- Put potatoes and peas in a mixing bowl and mash well till no lumps remain
- Add the coriander leaves chilli powder, chaat masala, lemon juice and salt and mix well
- Divide into 8 portions and roll into round patties
- Cut out shapes using a cookie cutter
- Heat the Oil, in a frying pan and shallow ry all the tikkis on both sides till golden brown
- Put in a serving plate and serve hot with ketchup
Recipe Notes
You can grate the potatoes if you find it difficult to mash them.
