Britannia Plans To Grow Its Premium Cream Biscuits Segment
Britannia, a food FMCG major is hoping to increase its market share in the premium cream biscuits sector in India by launching new products over the next few months.
The Cream Biscuits Parade
Britannia manufacturers a variety of biscuits including the Good Day range, the NutriChoice range and Muffins. Britannia focuses on premium biscuits as they have higher returns. Recently, it launched its Good Day choco chips which, according to Britannia’s managing director, Vinod Berry, are “giving us fantastic results”.
Additionally, Berry confided that Britannia will launch new products in untapped areas. “We will launch the right brands and position the right products in various segments. Even in creams there are segments where there are no players. There will be technological intervention to get a leg up as far as premium cream is concerned,” he said to the Times of India
At present, Britannia is a market leader in biscuits closely followed by ITC.
