Dunkin Brands Group Is Aiming To Remove Artificial Colors From Dunkin Donuts And Baskin Robbins Products
Major food brands have been taking several steps to adapt their fare to make it more appealing to a health conscious society. Burger King, for instance pledged to take steps towards antibiotic free chicken. Now, the Dunkin Brands Group Inc said it will remove artificial colours form its products in major US brands – Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins by 2018.

According to a press release from the company, “both the Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins product development teams, in partnership with suppliers, have been working to eliminate synthetic colors from their food and beverages.”
These colors will be replaced with natural colors in products like donut icings, fillings, toppings, sprinkles and beverages.
“This is a significant undertaking on the part of our product development teams and suppliers,” said Dunkin’ Brands Chairman and CEO Nigel Travis. However, we are committed to meet the evolving needs of our customers, including their preference for more nutritional transparency and simpler ingredients, while maintaining the great taste and the fun, vibrant colors expected from Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins products.”
