Jugnoo Acquires SabKuchFresh To Supplement Its Grocery Delivery Service

on

Jugnoo, the on-demand auto-rickshaw aggregator, plans to supplement its newly launched grocery delivery service ‘Fatafat’ by acquiring the online grocery service ‘SabKuchFresh’. In a statement released by the company, Jugnoo noted that the acquisition of SabKuchFresh will “enhance its recently launched grocery delivery service Fatafat.”

New Acquisition

Founded in 2014 by Samar Singla and Chinmay Agarwal, the Chandigarh-based auto-rickshaw aggregator has been trying to expand its reach across several categories after it received $10 million in a Series B round of funding from Paytm, Snow Leopard and Rocketship.vc. The company has branched into food delivery service with the launch of Jugnoo Meals and hyper-local delivery service Jugnoo Fatafat. The acquisition of ‘SabKuchFresh’ will help the company position itself in the hyper-local delivery sector of the country.

Hyper-Local Delivery Service

Speaking about the acquisition, Singla, chief executive officer of Jugnoo, said, “This is a step towards helping the auto drivers to supplement their livelihood through extra earnings. Jugnoo also intends to create a logistics network for the mass market of India and wants to tap the hyper-local delivery service space through best possible routes.” SabKuchFresh will provide its vast resources and network of B2B and B2C services with tie-ups with over 100 local farmers to the company. With the acquisition, Jugnoo has hired a separate team to monitor and regulate the online delivery process and provide quality checks of products in its inventory.

The company has plans to expand its grocery delivery services to over 30 cities across the country by the end of this year.
