Kraft Heinz Is Campaigning To Make The Day After The Super Bowl A National Holiday
Super Bowl Sunday is an important, important day in America. Millions of Americans gather in front of the TV to watch the annual championship game for the National Football League. People enjoy watching the game as they chow down on a buffet of foods including buffalo wings, pizza and potato chips.
Naturally, after Super Bowl Sunday is done, people are completely full up. Dragging themselves to work the next day is a task. If you work at Kraft Heinz, take heart – the company is giving its employees the day off the day after the Super bowl.
A Petition For a National Holiday
Along with giving their employees the day off, Kraft Heinz has set up a petition on Change.org to request that everyone get a holiday after the Super Bowl; a national holiday so to speak.

In the petition, it says that over 16 million people take the day off after the Sunday anyway, so wouldn’t it be better for companies to prepare for it? According to the company, the country loses almost $1 billion when people call in sick after Super Bowl Sunday.
“We can all agree that going to work the Monday after the “Big Game” on Sunday is awful,” read the petition. “So as far as we’re concerned at Heinz, we as a nation should stop settling for it being the worst work day of the year. We don’t settle for that awesome football Sunday to be just like every other day of the year. No. We eat. We drink. And we be merry, having the tastiest times of our lives. But then the very next day we settle for that Monday being a terrible work day.”
Kraft Heinz hopes to get 100,000 signatures, following which it will send the petition to Congress. Are you on board? Sign the petition here.
