Instructions
  1. Set your oven to 425°F before you start prepping, so that it’s ready.
  2. Wash your potatoes, make sure to scrub them clean. You can remove the eyes if you wish, but definitely get rid of the blemishes
  3. Rub the potatoes with olive oil, making sure that you cover each potato thoroughly. Either use your hands or a pastry brush.
  4. Generously sprinkle the potatoes with salt and pepper on all sides.
  5. Using the fork, prick holes in the potatoes in a few places. The purpose of this is to allow steam to escape from the baking potato.
  6. When baking you can either put them directly on the rack or if you can put them on a foil lined baking sheet on a baking tray. Bake them for about 60 minutes, but remember to flip them over every 20 minutes so that it bakes through.
  7. You can check to see if they’re done by piercing them with a fork.

If the skin is dry and the inside is soft, then your potatoes are done! And then you can top them with almost anything you desire.
