The Girl On The Train Ham And Cheese Sandwiches Recipe
The Girl on the Train has hit the cinemas, a year after the release of the novel written by Paula Hawkins. It’s a mystery thriller which focuses on an alcoholic woman who witnesses a crime but is unable to remember the details because she was intoxicated.
In tribute to the release, we’re sharing a recipe inspired by the book. At one point, Rachel, the main character buys a ham-and-cheese sandwich and a bottle of water which she takes to the park to try to figure out what she had seen on the night of the crime.

Ingredients
- 50 grams butter softened
- 4 slices white bread
- 2 tsp dijon mustard
- 100 gram thinly sliced ham
- 80 grams Gruyere cheese thinly sliced

Instructions
- Divide the butter into half and mix half of it with the mustard.
- Spread this mixture over a side of each slice of bread.
- Top with the ham and cheese and press the sandwich together.
- Heat the remaining butter in a pan and toast both sides of the sandwich in it.
- Serve and enjoy.
