And what if we told you that you could munch on some crispy crunchy potato chips without purchasing the bag of air? How, you ask? Well, you make these bad boys at home!

Frying up a batch of beautiful and delicious potato chips at home is no more difficult than going to the market and purchasing some. All you need are some nice potatoes, a little salt, a sharp knife, and a fryer. Follow this recipe to make your potato chips at home this weekend!

Instructions
  1. Place the sliced potatoes in a bowl of cold water.
  2. Drain, and rinse, then refill the bowl with water, and add the salt. Let the potatoes soak in the salty water for at least 30 minutes. Drain, then rinse and drain again.
  3. Heat oil in a deep-fryer or wok to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C).
  4. Put the soaked potato slices in the oil.
  5. Once they start turning golden, remove using a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.
  6. Continue frying in batches until all of the potato slices are fried. Season with additional salt and chili powder if desired.
  7. Store in an airtight container.
