Ingredients
- 1/2 cup thoor dal
- 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/4 urad dal
- 1 Spring Curry Leaves
- 1 onion
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- coriander leaves Handful
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 tsp Thalippu Vadagam

Instructions
- Remove the stem of the sundakkai and wash them well.
- Pressure cook the toor dal, sundakkai, red chillies, sambar onion, tomato and turmeric powder with 1 cup of water in a medium flame for 2-3 whistles.
- Allow it to cool down, and after the pressure has reduced, mash them with hand beater.
- Heat the oil in a pan, and add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and cumin seeds. Allow it to pop.
- Then, add the chopped onion and fry till they become translucent.
- Now, add the mashed dal, sambar powder and salt. Mix them well and add water if necessary.
- Bring it to boil. Switch off the stove and then temper the mixture with thaalippu vadagam using sesame oil.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- This goes well with plain rice and rotis.
