Ulundhu Kali Recipe
Ulundhu Kali, a.k.a., urad dal halwa is a popular South Indian dessert rich in nutrients and is considered very healthy. The recipe scores high on ease in making and, of course, taste. The halwa includes a lot of healthy ingredients like rice, urad dal, and fenugreek seeds, making it a rich source of iron.

Ingredients
- 1 cup Raw rice
- cup ¾urad dal
- tsp ½Fenugreek Seeds methi
- 1 cup ½palm sugar
- 3 cups Water
- cup ¼palm sugar or jaggery

Instructions
- Take rice, urad dal, and fenugreek seeds in a blender and powder it finely. Set aside.
- Take the palm sugar and water in a sauce pan and heat it till sugar melts.
- Strain it and add it to a heavy bottom pan or wok.
- Bring to a boil. Once it boils, sprinkle the powder slowly and mix well so no lumps are formed.
- Cook on a low heat, while stirring continuously till it thickens.
- Add in oil slowly and mix well.
- Once it starts to leave the sides, remove it and set aside to cool down a bit.
- Serve.
Recipe Notes
You can also serve the halwa in the form of round shaped balls or ladoos.
