Dunkin’ Donuts Employee Fired For Putting Bleach In A Box Of Donuts

on

Donuts have found themselves at the center of a controversy once again. Last week, police in Florida arrested a man for having what they thought was crystal meth in his car; tests proved that it was actually glaze from Krispy Kreme donuts. This week, an employee in a Virginia Dunkin’ Donuts has been fired after putting bleach in a serving of donuts.

Revenge Against Pesky Teenagers

A Dunkin Donuts’ branch in Oakton, Virginia used to give away unsold donuts at the end of the day. After receiving one such hand-out, a group of teenagers returned to the outlet another day and repeatedly asked an employee for their free donuts. After refusing a couple of times, the employee eventually told them to come back in the evening.

But. Before handing over the unsold donuts, the employee allegedly sprayed them with a chemical cleaning agent. After eating a couple, the teens sensed something amiss and informed the police. Since then, an investigation has been launched and the employee has been fired.

In a statement, Dunkin’ Donuts said “At Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants, the safety and well-being of customers is a top priority and we have stringent food safety standards for all restaurants. We are aware of the incident involving a crew member at a Dunkin’ Donuts franchise in Oakton, Virginia. In this instance, we have been informed by the franchise owner that he has terminated the employee involved and is cooperating fully with the local authorities. As this is a pending police matter, it is inappropriate for us to comment further and, as such, any additional questions can be directed to the police department.”
