A Handpicked Selection of Wines Paired with Intricately Folded Dim sum and more at Yauatcha
An elaborate wine program at a fine Cantonese restaurant is almost unheard of. That’s what sets Yauatcha apart from other dim sum restaurants in the city. Since its inception, Yauatcha’s wine program has set a standard for the classification and selection of wines. From light, aromatic and full bodied whites to fruity, bold and robust reds, Yauatcha’s wine menu features around 99 varieties of old world and new world wines available by the glass and bottle. This September, the dim sum teahouse from London presents a special menu of a handpicked selection of wines paired with its signature offering – dim sum!
In Chinese culture, dim sum is traditionally enjoyed with tea. While that has its own set of extraordinary pleasures, dim sum and wine allow you try a multitude of different flavours in one meal. We recommend you pairing the fresh and pleasant Scaia, Tenuta Sant’Antonio, Garganega – Chardonnay, Italy or the fruity, floral and light Dominio Del Plata Susana Balbo, Crios, Torrontes with the Shiitake mushroom dumpling, Crispy vegetable cheung fun, signature Hargau, Crispy golden pumpkin puff or Port Kelang style chilli prawns served with mantao.
If bold and beautiful reds are your pick, pair the Dominio Del Plata, Crios, Malbec with aromas of freshly crushed black cherries, subtle coffee and vanilla notes or Scaia, Tenuta Sant’Antonio, Corvina, Italy that is well balanced by flavour and freshness from sour cherry, plum and berries with Stir-fry lotus root, sugar snap and water chestnut with black pepper, Crispy duck roll dim sum or Stir-fry tenderloin in black pepper sauce and Sliced tenderloin in Mongolian style sauce. The menu also features sparkling wine and rose like Bisol, Belstar, Prosecco, Extra Dry from Italy or The Wolftrap, Boekenhoutskloof Rose from South Africa that are well paired with Fried turnip cake with vegetables, Mushroom spring roll with black truffle, Crispy lamb with raw mango or Honey smoked spare ribs.
So come over and enjoy the all new dim sum and wine pairing menu at Yauatcha, which introduces a handpicked selection of wines meticulously paired with an array of dim sum and main course dishes.
