The Gilmore Girls Ice Cream Is Here Just In Time For The Return Of The Show On Netflix

Remember when Ample Hills Creamery put out a request for Gilmore Girls fans to send in names and recipes for a brand new flavour of ice cream? Well, the wait is over, because they have finally announced the winner!

Aptly called “They Scoop Gilmores, Don’t They?”, the new flavour is available at the Brooklyn store of the creamery and for those who don’t live in the area, you can also buy it online. Phew! What does it taste like? “Coffee (of course) chocolate pudding ice cream (because Emily is trying after all) but oy, with the snickerdoodles already– topped with pink [Pop Tart] sprinkles,” the creamery announced on their website. They also added who the contributors, after going through over 2,500 suggestions, “The winning flavor, They Scoop Gilmores, Don’t They? is an amalgamation of three amazing suggestions: @pauline__beal’s allusion to Emily’s attempt at chocolate pudding, @ryebecca’s ingenious “oy with the snickerdoodles already” and @jjjmmd’s name– a reference to a reference to a reference.”

These quotes and references will make sense only to a true Gilmore Girls fan, but even if you’re not a fan of the television show, the ice cream definitely sounds fantastic!

 

You can get your hands on this new flavour at all the Ample Hills’ shops in New York right now! And an individual pint can be had as part of the creamery’s “Choose Your Own Story” five-pack or get two pints in the “Where You Lead, I Will Marshmallow” four-pack (which is also a reference to the theme song of the show!). The option also includes a pint each of “No Sleep Till Pumpkin” and “Snap, Mallow, Pop!”.

What’s even better is that with the show making it’s return in a four-part series of 90 minute episodes each, this ice cream couldn’t come at a better time. Stock up and prepare for an epic binge-watching session on Netflix later this month!
