Here’s What Jimmy Kimmel Thinks About The Hot Dog’s Sandwich Status
A few days ago, Merriam-Webster tweeted a rather insightful post on the types of sandwiches. Surprisingly enough, the hot dog was a part of this list. And this isn’t the first time the topic has sparked of debates everywhere as to whether the frankfurter stuffed street food qualifies as a sandwich or not. The arguments have been many – supporting both sides, of course – the most recent one being that of Jimmy Kimmel.
The late night host argued that a hot dog is definitely NOT a sandwich, adding that: “If you went in a restaurant and ordered a meat tubed sandwich, would that make sense? No! They’d probably call the cops on you!”
Kimmel may have settled the argument in his own funny way, but the debate on what’s a sandwich and what’s not still lingers around restaurant menus and eateries. Well at least this website lets you differentiate between a wrap and a sandwich. And as for the hot dog, it’s still not a sandwich.
And like Jimmy Kimmel says: “If a hot dog is a sandwich, then cereal is soup”. Period.
