Natalie Portman Wants To Host Her Own Vegan Cooking Show
At a recent Q&A event in New York following the screening of Eating Animals, a documentary that speaks about the harsh and gruesome reality about the meat industry, actress, producer, and director Natalie Portman spoke about veganism and encouraged everyone to try out the plant-based diet. The actress also shared with the audience her dream – a 100 percent vegan cooking show.
“I’ll share with you guys my dream,” Portman said at the opening night. “It would be my dream to make one of those cooking shows, but only for vegan food. It could provide you with a starter kit if you want to be a vegan”, she added, throwing her concept as a potential business idea at the audience, looking for buyers. “I’ll be taking offers in the lobby after this,” she joked.
The 37-year-old Annihilation actress is a propagator of veganism and said that if more people shifted to the diet, there would be a “huge impact”. “I don’t expect anyone to be vegan tomorrow, but making small changes makes a big difference,” Portman added.
Eating Animals, which is co-produced and co-narrated by Portman, highlights the unsustainability of factory farming. The movie is based on Jonathan Safran Foer’s best-selling 2009 book of the same name. Interestingly, the Black Swan star credits Foer’s work with her familiarization with veganism.
