Rajkummar Rao Is Finally “Allowed To Gain Some Weight”

on

After delivering nothing short of a stellar and hair-rising performance in Trapped, and giving us a peak into his upcoming releases, Ajay Pannalal’s Behen Hogi Teri and Dinesh Vijan’s Raabta, Rajkummar Rao is now all set to get into the skin of his next character – Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

The actor will come together with director Hansal Mehta and the duo after lighting the screen on fire with movies like Shahid and Aligarh will bring to life the untold story of Indian Leader Subhash Chandra Bose. “I have started reading a lot of books on him. Post 10th May, you would see me half bald just like Bose. I don’t believe in being fake with my roles so I wont use any wigs”, Rao said talking about his preparation for the movie.

Method Eating

Speaking of preparation, the actor’s tough and almost unreal coffee and carrot diet to skin down for his role in Trapped is not unknown. For the biopic on Bose too Rajkummar Rao has to bring about some physical changes but much to his relief, it involves gaining weight. And by the looks of it the City Lights actor is having a ball along the way with all his favourite foods.

He recently took to Instagram to share his sheer delight with all his followers with a picture of him hugging close a whole lot of yummies. The caption read: “When finally you are allowed to eat to gain some weight. Pizzas, Sweets, Biryanis, Aloo Parathas, Cakes, bring them on. #Bose #Happyme #Cinema #Workmode

Also, we cannot help but notice how all of those edibles are really just Bengali sweets like sondesh and rasgullas! That’s one way to go about with method acting!

Rao told Indian Express in an interview, “I am feeling fortunate that I have got the chance to play him. In a way, I am really happy that people would know more about his life. There are so many instances about his life, which left me surprised. Even his childhood, when he was young he went in search of a Guru. I mean I have never heard a kid of 14 year old traveling to Banaras with friend to find his Guru. So, yes. It is going to be very interesting.”
