Cinnamon Roll Casserole Recipe
Cinnamon rolls are the perfect sweet treat for a glorious evening. Topped with some cream cheese and caramelized sugar, it is ultimate decadence turned into a roll. The perfect way to indulge in this flavourful snack is to have a nice cup of hot chocolate along with it while listening to a groovy jazz number playing in the background.
Of course, making cinnamon rolls are a tedious procedure and requires too many steps to be followed. If you are feeling a little lazy on a cold wintery evening, try this take on the traditional cinnamon roll casserole. All it requires is the loaf of bread which you’ve been ignoring for the last few weeks.

Ingredients
For custard
- 5 Large Eggs
- 2 1/4 cups of whole milk
- 2 tbsp of granulated sugar
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp of ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp of Salt
For cinnamon cream cheese filling
- 250 grams of softened cream cheese
- 2 tbsp of softened unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 150 degrees C
- Grease a casserole dish with butter
- Layer half of the bread slices in the dish tightly so it forms a solid layer
For the custard
- Whisk the eggs and then slowly drizzle in the milk
- Add sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and whisk until it forms a semi solid texture
For the filling
- Using a handheld blender, beat the cream cheese with butter, egg, cinnamon and sugar
- Whisk until its soft
For the bake
- Pour half of the custard mixture over the layer of bread and let it soak
- Add the filling on top of the custard and evenly spread it
- Layer the other half of the bread on top of the filling
- Pour the rest of the custard mixture on top
- Sprinkle some extra cinnamon on top for added flavour
- Bake for 50 minutes until the top is browned and crispy
- Cool for 15 minutes and sprinkle with some confectioners' sugar (optional) and serve
