Fried Drumsticks Recipe
Drumstick is a popular vegetable in South Asia. And Indian being the largest producer of the drumstick plant is also easily the largest consumer of the same. Drumsticks can be found in various Indian dishes like dal, sambhar, rasam, and various other gravy dishes. The vegetable is delicious when cooked as a broth or as a sautéed/roasted dish on its own. The recipe we’re discussing today falls in the latter category. Behold, the drumstick fry.
As the name suggests, the drumstick fry is a dish that consists of crispy pan-fried drumsticks cooked along with delicious spices and in little oil, making it healthy as well as yummy. Follow this easy and quick recipe to whips up a delicious drumstick fry!

Ingredients
- 2 in drumsticks cut2” pieces
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- tsp ½turmeric powder
- pinch aof Asafetida
- 8-9 Curry Leaves
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- Oil - as required
- salt to taste

Instructions
- Soak the chopped drumstick pieces in water for around 10 minutes to get rid of the bitterness.
- Drain the water.
- Cook drumsticks in water with pinch of salt for around 10 minutes. Discard water and keep it aside.
- In a pan, heat oil.
- Now add mustard seeds, curry leaves, allow them to splutter.
- Add asafetida, chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder and salt. Fry for 2 minutes on a low flame.
- Finally add the cooked drumsticks to this and fry for another 5 minutes. Add a teaspoon or two more water to evenly coat the drumsticks with the spices.
- Serve hot.
