Easy Andhra Prawn Curry Recipe
Andhra prawn curry or royallu iguru is a delicious way to prepare prawns, Andhra style. A combination of well-cooked onions and spices make for a spicy, exciting curry.
Serve this prawn curry with steamed rice or hot parathas as a main course and enjoy!

Ingredients
- 20 grams Prawns cleaned and washed
- 2 onions finely chopped
- 1 green chili slit
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
- salt to taste
- pinch aof Turmeric
- 1/4 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp Garam masala powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp Oil
- leaves corianderfor garnishing
For marinating
- 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp Lemon juice

Instructions
- Combine the ingredients for marinating and coat the prawns with this mixture.
- Set aside for half an hour.
- Head the oil and sauté the cumin seeds, curry leaves and green chili.
- Allow the curry leaves to crispen and then stir in the onions and salt to taste.
- Sauté the mixture until the onions turn golden.
- Lower the flame and continue sautéing for a minute or two.
- Stir in the ginger garlic paste and the prawns.
- Sauté for three minutes.
- Then, add the chili powder, turmeric and garam masala.
- Sauté for two minutes.
- Pour in half a cup of water and stir thoroughly.
- Cook until the prawns are done.
- Take the prawns off the stove and garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve!
