Green Prawn Curry Recipe
While most people think of green prawn curry as a Thai dish, made using Thai green paste, this recipe puts an Indian spin on the curry.
A combination of common Indian ingredients, like coriander leaves and green chilies are combined to make a homemade green paste that is then used to make this spicy, tasty curry.
Serve this curry with bread or rice as a main course for lunch or dinner!

Ingredients
To make the paste
- 1 small Onion
- 1 inch Ginger
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1/2 cup coriander leaves chopped
- 3 Green chilies
- 1 tbsp Water
- pinch Aof salt
To make the curry
- 1 1/2 tbsp Oil
- 22 Prawns cleaned
- 1 onion julienned
- 14 Curry Leaves
- 1 Potato peeled and chopped into cubes
- 1 tomato
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt as per taste

Instructions
- Sprinkle the prawns with a pinch of salt and allow them to marinade.
- Soak the potatoes in water with a pinch of salt.
- Grind the ingredients for the paste into a smooth paste.
- Sauté the curry leaves in hot oil and then add the onions.
- As the onion begins to brown, stir in the green paste and the turmeric powder.
- Sauté the paste for 2 minutes and then add the cubed potatoes.
- Cover the pan and allow the potatoes to cook through.
- Stir in the prawns and sauté for two minutes.
- Chop the tomato and stir it in.
- Add about half a cup of water to the mixture and cover the pa.
- Allow the curry to cook for two minutes and add salt to taste.
- Take the curry off the stove and serve warm.
