Chicken curries are also quite different in that you can use different spices and add ingredients to make several variations of the same dish.
This lemon chicken curry is the best alternative to your traditional chicken curry with the addition of some soury lemon juice. The lemon juice kicks up the flavours while the spices heat up your senses.

Instructions
Cut the chicken into medium pieces and marinate it with some turmeric and salt
Add oil to a saucepan and when heated, add the chicken pieces
Fry the chicken pieces until they are golden brown in color
Add the crushed garlic and ginger and saute
Add the turmeric, cumin, coriander, garam masala and red chilli and saute on medium heat for 4-5 minutes

Remove the pan from heat and add beaten yoghurt to the chicken
Place the pan back on to the stove and keep mixing until it comes to a boil
After a boil, reduce the heat and further cook for 2 minutes
Remove from heat, garnish with some coriander leaves and serve with rice or roti
