9 Pancakes To Make Your Weekends More Delicious Than Ever
Pancakes are a magical food item. They can be eaten at any time of day, they can be eaten with something sweet or something savoury, but either way, you can devour them all in one sitting. Making pancakes is also really easy and simple and mostly, uncomplicated. Yes, sometimes your batter can get a little thick and grainy, but just mix it all nicely together and you’ll be fine. The great thing about pancakes is that they don’t always have to look the same, you can mix it up with anything while still making the batter and then top it off with even more delicious when you serve it.
Sunday is in a few hours, so why not take a look at this list, see what works for you and make it happen tomorrow morning. We can promise you that at least one (or all, even) will absolutely blow your mind.
Cinnamon Roll Pancakes
This is a little more complicated than your average pancake, but it’ll be worth the effort. Make your cinnamon filling and put it into an icing bag and once your pancake batter is ready and you spread it out onto the griddle, just squeeze a spiral of cinnamon on top of the pancake and then cook it like you would a regular pancake.
Funfetti Cake Batter Pancakes
In your pancake batter, add in the rainbow sprinkles (which is what gives it the Funfetti effect) and then like a regular pancake, spread it, flip it and serve it. Top it off with some whipped cream and maybe a few more sprinkles.
Churro Pancakes
We know you’re thinking that these pancakes are going to be made with Churros, but it’s not. The churro effect really comes from the cinnamon coating. Once you’ve made your pancake and while they’re still hot, spread butter on either side, then dip them into your cinnamon-sugar mixture till nicely coated and serve.
Chocolate Pancakes
These are now so popular, it’s a miracle if you haven’t had it yet. Add cocoa powder or melted chocolate into your pancake mix, stir it nicely so that the chocolate has spread and then flip it. See, easy.
Blueberry Pancakes
Usually blueberry pancakes are just regular pancakes topped with syrup and blueberries, but we’ve got a twist for you. Cut the blueberries into tiny little pieces, add it to the batter and cook the pancakes. Then you can add more blueberries and syrup when you serve.
Pumpkin Pancakes
It’s Pumpkin Spiced Latte season, so obviously we’re going to give you a pumpkin pancake that you should make. Like the blueberry pancakes, just slice the pumpkin into small pieces when you’re mixing your batter and mix it nicely so that it’s mushy. Then flip it and serve it.
Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes
Slice the bananas, freeze them for a few hours and then when you’re making your batter, take them out and blend the bananas nicely. Add it to the batter, along with some chocolate chips and bam. Add more bananas and chocolate chips when you serve, obviously.
Carrot Cake Pancakes
Use a food processor, obviously and chop the carrots really fine. Once the batter is ready, mix in the carrots to combine it all together. And then put it on the griddle and pancakes are done.
Oreo Cookie Pancakes
Instead of cocoa powder, add in your Oreo cookies. Of course, you need to get the cookies into a slightly powdery consistency which can either be done in a blender or by stuffing them all into a bag and beating them till fine. Then mix it into the batter and you’re set. And when you serve it, layer them up, so it’d be one Oreo pancake, cream and then another Oreo pancake and so on!
