Rosa’s Pizzeria takes things ‘forward’. One slice at a time.

A dollar slice pizzeria in Philadelphia has taken the each-slice-a-dollar-pizzeria to a whole new level. Yes, one dollar buys you a slice, but for an extra dollar you could buy a slice for someone homeless. 

Mason Wartman, the owner, says it all started for him last year. A customer walked in and asked if he could buy another slice for someone in need. “Absolutely!” came the reply and a quick post-it with a smiley went on the wall. This chain grew larger, much larger and the wall is now filled with notes with motivational phrases. ” You can do it! ” , ” You are beautiful! ” are a few. 

“This guy wrote on a paper plate “God bless you. Because of you I ate off this plate, the only thing I ate all day,”  added Wartman. 

Wartman also sells t-shirts and sweatshirts, the proceeds of which go toward buying more pizza for the local homeless.
