Eat This & You Could Live Up To 117 Years, Just Like The Oldest Woman Alive!

on

Did you know that the oldest woman alive is 117 years old? To give you more perspective, she was born in November 1899, that is, the 19th century. Feel the wrinkles creeping up, do you? Yes, we are wondering the same thing as you are – how?

Turns out that living a long life spanning over three centuries depends majorly on two things – independence and diet, says 117-year-old Emma Morano of Verbania, Italy. In an interview to the Agence France-Presse, Morano said her major foods are eggs and an occasional cookie.

The Egg Theory

“I eat two eggs a day and that’s it,” Morano said. “But I do not eat much because I have no teeth.” Though, even when she did have teeth, Morano didn’t eat much else, according to her physician.

“Emma has always eaten very few vegetables, very little fruit. When I met her, she ate three eggs per day, two raw in the morning and then an omelette at noon, and chicken at dinner,” said Dr. Carlo Bava, who has been the 117 year old’s physician for the past 27 years.

That said, it is no only the eggs that keep Morano going. In an interview last year, she admitted that being extremely independent has also been one of the factors that contributed significantly to her long life. Morano got separated from her husband – “unofficially divorce, as divorces weren’t legal in Italy up until 1970 – in 1938, and has been on her own ever since. 1970). “I didn’t want to be dominated by anyone,” she said.

Now that’s some major vintage badassery right there, women!
