Future Supply Chain Solutions Goes Futuristic With An Automated Cross Belt

on

In what appears to be something out a dystopian fantasy or a Charlie Chaplin movie (you take your pick) Future Supply Chain Solutions inaugurated an automated, high speed cross belt sortation technology, at its distribution centre in Mihan, Nagpur, the company said in a statement. It was inaugurated by Nitin Gadkari, hon’ble minister of road transport and highways of India and Kishore Biyani, Group CEO at Future Group.

Future Supply Chain Solutions provides services like storage, retail store replenishment, inventory planning and control, vendor management, quality assurance, bar coding and packaging solutions, to its clients ranging from retailers to distributors.

According to the company, this new technology will enhance the transportation and logistics industry while accommodating the upcoming GST tax reforms. The technology can process over 360 crore pieces per annum sorting capacity with accuracy over 99%, and that is no mean feat, Henry Ford would be proud!

Biyani said that this distribution center will be a milestone in the Indian warehousing sector. With the brilliant technology used in the sorting system at the DC along with the individually coordinated system solutions, they can ensure the highest level of service to the consumers of the nation.

The sorting centre has been developed by BEUMER Group headquartered in Germany whilst adhering to the Make-in-India concept since most of the project supply and execution has been done by BEUMER Group, India (intelligent and cheaper, we’re the best). German engineering and Indian construction sound like a match made in heaven to me!
