Grab Your Floo Powder, Find A Fire And Head To This Harry Potter Themed Bar!
Even though we said goodbye to Harry, Hermione, Ron and the rest of the wizarding world a few years ago, our Harry Potter filled childhood still lives strong. In the latest tribute to Harry Potter, a few Potterheads have opened a Harry Potter themed bar in Toronto.

Named ‘The Lockheart’, after the bumbling, vain professor that set a bunch of imps on his class, the bar carries references to Harry Potter’s world in all its interiors. A stag, which is Harry’s patronus decorates one wall of the bar. A deathly hallows symbol can be found by a seeker. The bar area is decorated like an apothecary workshop. And finally, most heart warmingly, on one wall is a glow in the dark heart, encasing the words “all was well”; the final words of the Harry Potter Series.

Despite these references, many suggest that the bar will be as welcoming to the few people that are not Potterheads as well. “Without knowing any of the Harry Potter stuff, you already will think of this as a cool bar. You’d come here and see the stag’s head on the wall and go ‘Wow, I love that’, but a Harry Potter fan might say ‘That’s a Patronus’,” explained Paris Xerx, who co-owns the bar with Matt Rocks to Toronto Now.

The bar also has to be careful about the references, as it has no affiliation with JK Rowling or Bloomsbury Publishing and must therefore steer clear of explicitly mentioning ‘Harry Potter’. For the same reason, it doesn’t have the copyrighted ‘Butterbeer’ on the menu, but is looking for an alternative name. However, it does have delicious drinks like ‘The Shacklebolt’ made with Gosling rum infused with spices. We’re also dying to sample their ‘Befuddlement draft and their ‘The Botanist.’
Sadly, we’re still waiting on our latest stock of floo powder (and indeed, our Hogwarts letters) to arrive. Until then, pay them a visit and tell us how it was?
