In the UK, 1 in 3 Vegetarians Eat Meat When Drunk

on

We’ve all been there. Us, meat-eaters. There’s a certain level of food-craving when drunk that is unparalleled to any other craving sober (except maybe ice-cream during the you-know-which time during the month).

But an interesting study conducted in the UK yielded some surprising results. The study revealed that one-third off self-professed vegetarians eat meat while drunk. The study also found that 1 in 3 people surveyed indulged in meat every time they enjoy a night out with alcohol.

Let's go kebab-crazy!

So what is the Achilles Heel for the vegetarians?  Kebab meat and beef burgers were the biggest cravings. Other favorites included bacon, fried chicken and pork sausages.

Bacon and fried chicken? Who are we to judge? We would probably give up being vegetarian too if we did decide to ever turn vegetarian.

“I really couldn’t believe the stats from this research! I know a few vegetarians who sometimes crave meat, but it seems that a few are giving into their cravings when drunk!,” said George Charles, founder of www.vouchercodespro.co.uk, the website that conducted the survey.

Shammi Kebab

Well, I for one, can believe it. I’ve had a few friends who have indulged on the sly in a few pieces of chicken while letting go of their inhibitions with alcohol. So next time, you’re out with your vegetarian friends, you might want to keep the meat away when they’re drinking.

What about you? Have you had friends who did the same?
