Majestic Chicken Recipe
True to its name, the Chicken Majestic is one rich and lavish preparation. A treat for chicken and meat lovers, the Hyderabadi dish can be had as an appetizer or even as a main course. It comprises of juicy pieces – or strips – of marinated chicken fried and then seasoned with the choicest of flavoring agents like chilli, garlic, garam masala, soy sauce, and more.
The delicious Chicken Majestic could easily be dubbed Andhra’s take on chilli chicken with the added desi twist! The recipe is very easy to whip up and the end result is a platter full of delicious chicken strips sitting to be devoured over drinks and cheer. Follow this simple recipe to make a batch of Majestic Chicken at home!

- 2 cloves garlic chopped
- 2 Green chilies
- ¾ tbsp. soy sauce
- tsp ¼red chili powder
- tsp ½garam masala powder
- 3 tbsp thick curd
- A sprig of curry leaves
- Handful of mint leaves

- Cut the chicken pieces into 2½”strips.
- Soak the strips in buttermilk for 20 minutes.
- Drain the buttermilk and mix the chicken strips with ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, corn flour, and red chili powder. Set aside for 10 minutes.
- Deep fry on medium heat till the chicken turns light golden on all sides. Remove onto a kitchen towel to drain off excess oil.
- In the same oil sauté the garlic, curry leave, and green chili.
- When the curry leaves turn crisp, add the red chili powder, mint leaves, and garam masala powder.
- Sauté for a minute and then add the curd. Stir and cook till the mix becomes thick and all the moisture has evaporated.
- Add the soy sauce and mix well.
- Now add the fried chicken to this mix and coat the strips evenly. Turn the stove off.
- Serve.
If you want to bake the chicken strips instead of deep-frying, then leave the strips for marination in the buttermilk for at least 2-3 hours.
