McDonald’s Will Be Testing Mobile Ordering And Paying At Select Outlets
McDonald’s has announced that it will be testing new features on its mobile app in select outlets. While the McDonald’s mobile app already allows users to browse through menus and find the nearest McDonald’s outlet to them, the new features will allow users to place orders and pay through the app.
Test Runs
McDonald’s is conducting the test runs across 80 outlets in North California and Washington. The app will allow users near these outlets to place and pay for an order, following which they can stop off at the outlet and pick up their order.
“We look forward to learning from our customers in these markets as they order ahead, pay within the app and choose one of the various ways to pick up and enjoy their favorite McDonald’s foods,” Julia Vander Ploeg, vice president of U.S. Digital for McDonald’s, said in a statement.
After the trials and feedback, McDonald’s plans to make the feature available at all its outlets across the US by the end of the year.
